This seminar
begins with the basic concepts underlying financial reporting. This prepares lawyers with limited accounting and financial
background to comprehend topics covered later in the day. The financial statement of a real company is used to demonstrate
these concepts.
Participants will then see how basic analytical techniques are applied to a financial statement
and will be introduced to ways they can detect manipulation of the reported results of a company.
Attorneys will
learn how to determine whether they should place reliance on financial information and what questions should be asked in various
circumstances.
